It's not Romantic but it's Steak! [Home DIY]

So Valentine's day have just went by, some of you might love the day like Munchasaurus Pi, or hate the day like my Grumpasaurus. Either way, I hope you all had a lovely day.

To Munchasaurus Pi, Valentine's Day might be a hallmark holiday but I love the concept of a day of celebration with the loved ones, not merely your partner, but you family, friends, pets and whoever you love.

As Grumpasaurus doesn't like the concept of Valentines at all, I changed the day to our annual steak night; making it the only day in the year I'm allow to munch (or devour might be a better word) as many steak as I want. P.S. When it comes to a good steak, Munchasaurus Pi have no limits or boundaries... 

Munchasurus Pi brought 1.86kg of steak (we only ate about 1.3kg though~) 

I must admit, seeing everyone talking about what their beloved got them for valentines makes me a little jealous, but then I'm one lucky munchasaurus too, I have a grumpasaurus to make me an amazing steak night!

Plus plenty of 'feel good' veggies

The baby broccoli fried with garlic was amazing... but for any meat lovers (and for those who isn't thinking about diets) I totally recommend the bacon creamy mash, it's just like heaven and it's simple to make too:

1. Peel and boil the potatoes like normal for making a mash
2. Cut some streaky bacon up into little chunks and fry the bacon till it's gold brown and take it off the heat. 
3. Heat some creme fraiche up. 
4. Then once the potatoes are done, mash the potatoes with the fried bacons and the creme fraiche together!

The beautiful perfectly done medium steak! 

For the steak to taste good, the trick is simply a good steak, HOT pan and butter! 

1. Salt and pepper both sides of the steak.
2. Heat the pan thoroughly and make sure it is HOT, when you throw the steak in it should be sizzling big time. (If you have your hand about 5 cm away from the pan you should feel it very HOT still.)
3. Butter the pan, and try not be to too health conscious
4. Before you turn sides, add more butter. You want the other side to sizzle and taste just as good and juicy too

Nothing beats a good tasty and juicy steak~

Though every time Grampsaurus sees me devouring steaks... he's scared and hides in the little corner and hope he doesn't get eaten alive afterwards... lol
