Hello fellow munchians, sorry Munchasaurus Pi has been gone for a good few days to the world of reality (aka work) but here I am, back to the munching world again.
Lets move from Elba to Florence; my favourite Italian city so far (I might even go as far as my favourite European city so far)
Anyway, back to the munching subject - Ristorante Il Boccale; the first Italian restaurant in Florence for me.
I'm not one for eating in touristy looking restaurants, I like sit next to locals and see what the local food is really like, this restaurant took a little digging around but it was nice to hunt around side and back streets in Florence.
Very old Italian family style decor, I loved all the vintage photos on the wall.
As the first course (eating the Italian style) I picked the Stuffed Rivoli with Squid Ink. The squid ink was so fresh and very thick, pair with stuffed rivoli (which I think was cheese and herbs). Together it was bit too rich and a little too salty for me.
Cuttlefish with Spinach - I'm a bit puzzled with the plate decoration but the dish itself was great, the garlic and seasoning complimented well with the cuttlefish and it was cooked just right. Cuttlefish wasn't very chewy and the spinach just melts in your mouth.
